On Tuesday, Feb. 20, traffic stops will take place on Main Street (Hwy 550) between 3rd Ave. and 8th Ave. for no longer than 10-minute holds, between 6 am and 10 am. This is to allow for the safety of a filming crew. Filming will be completed by 10:00 am on Tuesday. Please plan additional time getting to school.

Ouray is accepting applications for a girls high school basketball coach. We are looking for a coach who is enthusiastic, motivating, and can develop young athletes. Applicants must submit their application to Vicky Trujillo at [email protected].

Ouray is seeking a new leader for a program that successfully combines the athletic talents and participation from Ouray, Ridgway, and Silverton schools. Ouray School is seeking a Community Program Coordinator to manage the non-school hours of KURA community radio. The part time position will focus on developing a vision, organizing volunteer program hosts, and developing a revenue model through underwriting and fundraising. All of Ouray school staff received Mental Health First Aid training at the beginning of the school year. The training is free and available to all community members.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) San Miguel & Ouray Affiliate and will be hosting a Family-to-Family class starting January 18th, in person at the Ouray 4H Event Center with a virtual option. The class will occur weekly on Thursday evenings from 6pm-8pm and run for 8 weeks. Excused absences are primarily for illness and school activities, but Ouray School understands that occassionally families need time to be gone from school for more than one consecutive day. The goal of prearranging an absence is to support students and families while gone and for return to school.

Art opening reception of Eric Fagrelius on Thursday, January 11 from 4pm to 6pm at the Ouray Library. Light refreshments will be served.
