Ouray Elementary School

Elementary students participate in annual field trips, regional programs, and presentations.
  • Annual Field Trips: Pumpkin Patch (Pk-K), Telescope Night (1), Eureka Science Center (1-2), Colorado History Trips (4), Mesa Verde (4)
  • Ridgway Reservoir Science Program
  • Creede Repertory Theater (PK-4)
  • Telluride Adaptive Ski Program (PK-4)

Students explore the Utah desert by bike.Ouray Middle School

When students enter 5th grade, they are a part of a four-year middle school program and the start of annual class trips.
  • Cross Bar X (5th) - students have their first big class outing and work on team work and collaboration.
  • Denver (6th) - students visit the state capital, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the Acquarium, and see a Rockies game.
  • Moab Adventure (7th) - students camp outdoors and experience Utah via bike, raft, rappelling, and on foot.
  • Front Range Science (8th) - students tour hands-on science locations that end with a visit to the University of Colorado.
  • Colorado National Monument (5-8)
  • Quarterly Academic Achievements, Perimeter Trail Hike (5-8)
  • Telluride Adaptive Ski Program

Students visit the Capital Building in Washington, DCOuray High School

Student participate in all-school quarterly trips and service activities while trips shift to course-based programs.
  • Quarterly Activities: Fall hike, Canyon hike, Winter cross country ski, spring reservoir service
  • 2 Service Days per year
  • Arts: UpStart productions, Ouray International Film Festival, Mountain Film
  • Options: Red Mountain Lodge trip, Telluride Adaptive Ski Program
