The Ouray athletic department would like to introduce Paul Woodruff as the new Ouray Girls Basketball coach. Coach Woodruff comes to us from Alabama where he has retired as a physical education teacher and coach. Paul has experience as both an athlete himself and has 27 years of experience coaching girls basketball and softball in the yellowhammer state. His coaching experience has ranged from summer league, to middle school, to high school varsity.
When asked about restarting the girls program, he stated "My number one priority at OHS is to build a program the school community will be proud of". He will focus on fundamentals of the game and building a TEAM. This will be accomplished through off-season work and summer strength and conditioning. All of which Coach Woodruff has experience in building.
Additionally, Paul has been married to his wife Kathy for 36 years. Paul and Kathy have three adult children Hannah, Ty, Emily and two grandsons Cam and Parker. His two daughters have played collegiate softball. While Paul is new to our district he has been visiting Ouray every year since 2018. You might have also seen Paul up on the trails during the summer months due to him doing Jeep tours for Switzerland of America Jeeps the last three summers.
Please help us in welcoming Paul and celebrating the return of Lady Trojan basketball!!!
