The George Gardner Scholarship Foundation will be holding it's annual fundraiser this Thursday, Nov 10th 6pm at the 4H Center in Ridgway.
Over the years the GF Scholarship has provided a number of Ouray County students with some amazing scholarship opportunities and has helped to fund the Outdoor Rec programs at both Ouray and Ridgway Schools. This year we will not be holding a ski swap but will instead have a silent auction as well as a presentation by Ridgway resident, world explorer and first female president of the American Mountain Guides Association, Angela Hawse. It should be a fascinating and engaging presentation.
George Gardner was a tireless advocate and educator who left a tremendous legacy in Ouray and San Miguel Counties. This scholarship is an integral part of carrying on his legacy and we hope you can join us and support this worthy cause in the name of Ouray County students.
