In addition, as the leader in suicide prevention work across our communities, The Center is sponsoring a community forum to help community members save lives and reduce suicides in our community. This event is going to be on Tuesday, September 21, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Montrose Event Center, 1036 N. 7th Street, Montrose. Come early to talk to our presenters and meet other community members. The presentation will start at 6 p.m. and will feature a panel presentation and discussion with Laura Byard, Ed Hagins and Nic Taylor addressing these and other questions:
  • What leads to suicide?
  • How can I stop suicides in my community?
Mental Health First Aid and QPR Classes
Finally, we are hosting two in person Mental Health First Aid courses in September and our usual virtual QPR training in early October. Registration for these classes is available on our website at centermh.org/classes.

We hope that you will be able to attend one or more of these events or trainings in September to honor and recognize Suicide Prevention Month.

Resources and Community Outreach
In order to ensure that everyone has access to suicide prevention resources, our website has been updated to include more information about suicide prevention. You can access information and resources in a user-friendly way to learn how to be a lifeline and make a difference, including our new one page information sheet that shares risk factors, warning signs and how to get help.  Visit the new Suicide Prevention page for more information.

The CMH website also has links to several stories of lived experience with suicide and suicidal ideation that are powerful to read and impactful to share.

Be sure to follow The Center on FacebookInstagram and LinkedIn to share our content about suicide prevention with your communities.

You can make a difference in your community and save a life!  Help us prevent suicides in our communities.
