The Ouray School Board of Education would like to officially announce the Board seats up for election in the Fall of 2021. This year, there are three seats up for election out of the five-person board. All five members represent the entire district, and there are not separate district boundaries by member.
Eligibility
A candidate for school board must be a resident of the school district and a registered voter, as shown on the books of the County Clerk and Recorder, for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the election. Candidates must also be 18 years or older by the date of the election and a citizen of the United States.
Call for Nominations
Candidate packets will be available from the Ouray School main office starting August 4, 2021 through August 19, 2021. A person who desires to be a candidate for the Board of Education shall file a written notice of intention to be a candidate and a nomination petition signed by at least 25 eligible electors who are registered to vote in the biennial school election. Completed petitions should be submitted to Tod Lokey, the School District’s Designated Election Official, no later than 1pm on Friday, August 27, 2021.
